KUZHITHURA: Tamil Nadu Police has rejected the statement of accused Ambili that no one else was involved in the murder of crusher owner Deepu.
Sunil Kumar, a native of Parassala, who runs surgicals in Neyyattinkara and Pradeep Chandran, an employee of his shop, were found to be connected with the incident. Sunil provided the surgical blade and gloves to slit Deepu's throat. He took Ambili to Kaliyikkavila from Neyyattinkara in his own car to commit the crime. Pradeep Chandran also accompanied them. Pradeep Chandran was taken into custody by the Neyyattinkara Police and handed over to the Tamil Nadu Police.
Police suspect that Deepu's murder was a quotation issued by Sunil Kumar. Only when he is taken into custody will the story unfold. Ambili said that no one else was involved. The truth was revealed during detailed interrogation. At first he did not give a clear answer to the question from where he bought the surgical blade. Then Sunil's name came out. With that, the police started searching for Sunil. After the incident, Sunil's phone was found to be switched off. On the conclusion that he is in Kerala, Tamil Nadu police continues the search under the leadership of SI Arulappan.
A surgical blade, gloves, Ambili's blood-stained shirt and Rs 7.4 lakh were found. The police recovered the blade and five lakh rupees from Ambili's house in Malayam yesterday morning. Two and a quarter lakh rupees were found from the house of the neighbour.
Two days before the murder, Ambili handed over Rs 3 lakh to his wife Kala, saying that Deepu had given it to him. Kala revealed that it was assigned to a neighbour. Of this, Rs 75,000 and Rs 5 lakh stolen from the car are to be recovered. The neighbour will be interrogated.
After the murder, Ambili returned and handed over five lakh rupees to his wife. The police concluded that after the murder, Ambili handed over five lakh rupees to Sunil.
Ambili repeats the statement that despite the disclosure of the information about the blade and the money, he committed the murder because of debt. Meanwhile, Deepu's wife, Vidhumol, was summoned by the Tamil Nadu police at the Kaliyikkavila station yesterday and took her statement.
Chloroform test
Ambili's statement is that he gave chloroform to Deepu first and slit his throat. A chemical analysis of Deepu's internal organs should be obtained to confirm the presence of chloroform. Ambili testified that Deepu's throat was cut in a drunken state and that he limped to avoid being caught suddenly.
