KONDOTTY: An autorickshaw driver, who swung a machete in front of a bus on the Kozhikode - Palakkad highway, has been arrested. The arrested has been identified as Malayil Shamsuddeen (27), a native of Valiyaparam. The machete used by him was also taken into custody.

On Friday evening, the autorickshaw driver swung a machete in front of a private bus running from Kozhikode to Manjeri. When the bus stopped in Pulikkal, the auto driver who came behind honked impatiently. The bus could not be move forward quickly as two elderly people took time to get off. Then the autoricksaw managed to get in front of the bus and tried not to give space for it to overtake. When the bus honked horn, the autorickshaw driver swung a machete. This continued from Thalekkara to Airport Road. The arrest was made on a complaint filed by bus employees.
