PANAMARAM: The Motor Vehicle Department will file a case against the first suspect in the Shuhaib murder case, Akash Thillenkery, for travelling in a jeep without a number plate and not wearing a seat belt. Akash Thillenkery and his accomplices travelled in the jeep all through Panamaram town the other day and he even dared to post the video as an Instagram reel.
The Motor Vehicle Department has ordered an inquiry into the incident while Wayanad Enforcement RTO K.R. Suresh was assigned to head the investigation. The vehicle owned by a Malappuram native was seized earlier for violating road rules. After confirming the violation, the Motor Vehicle Department decided to take further action.
Police will also investigate the chances of this modified vehicle being used in off-road ventures. It is rumoured that Akash, a history-sheeter and notorious criminal, has many associates in Wayanad. The motor vehicle department will check the CCTV footage near Panamaram town and take further action. Enforcement RTO K. R. Suresh told 'Kerala Kaumudi' that the footage will be examined and necessary follow-up action will be taken.
