THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police arrested 9 temporary employees of the Lulu Mall here for allegedly stealing mobile phones worth Rs 5.20 lakh from the electronics outlet inside the mall. The arrested include four minors and five others are identified as Ajmal (18), Ijaz Khan (18), Syedali (18), Unais (18) and Niyas Khan (18) from Beemapally.

The Pettah Police said that they were temporarily employed for 4 days as part of a 50 percent discount fair held at the mall. The theft happened on Friday night. They stole 6 out of 14 mobile phones worth Rs 85,000 kept in the store area of ​​Lulu Connect. The accused were found after checking the surveillance cameras in the mall and were produced in court.
