MALAPPURAM: One more person has been confirmed with H1N1 in the state. The disease was confirmed on a native of Malappuram Vazhikadavu. A meeting will be held today at panchayat hall as part of controlling the disease.
In the state where viral fever is raging, the number of people suffering from it has crossed one lakh in ten days. So far, 1.36 lakh people have contracted fever this month. 13,600 people sought treatment yesterday alone. 164 dengue cases, 24 cases of jaundice and 45 cases of H1N1 were confirmed yesterday with two deaths.
A 57-year-old man died of diarrhea in Palakkad and an 80-year-old man died of H1N1 in Thrissur. A 50-year-old man with dengue symptoms was also reported dead at Sasthamcotta in Kollam yesterday. With the discovery of cholera in the capital, people coming with symptoms of diarrhea are being monitored in hospitals. 3495 people sought treatment for diarrhea yesterday. 82 people have been diagnosed with chicken pox and seven with measles. 28 fever deaths occurred in the state in 10 days.
Two more from a private institution in the capital have been confirmed with cholera. Two people who were treated with symptoms at a private care home in Neyyattinkara tested positive. With this, three have been confirmed with cholera here. With this, four cases of cholera have been confirmed in the state. One case of cholera was confirmed in Kasargod earlier.
