KOCHI: Kochi Metro has registered over 100,000 daily passengers in the last ten days and has generated good revenue. The KMRL authorities have no choice but to increase the number of services as the rush has increased. Two more trains will be run to meet the demand.

The waiting time between two trains is currently 7 minutes and 45 seconds during the peak hours of 8 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 7 pm. With the addition of two more trains, the waiting time will be reduced by 45 seconds to 7 minutes.

As per the new change from July 15, there will be an additional 12 trips. With this, Kochi Metro will run 250 trips per day from Thripunithura to Aluva and vice versa. Currently 12 trains with 3 coaches are operating.

If we check the figures from July 1 to 11, 12 lakh people traveled in Kochi Metro. If we look at the figures for the first six months of this year, from January 1 to June 30, one crore 64 lakh (1.64 crore) passengers have used the Kochi Metro facility.
