THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Warning of heavy rainfall in Kerala. The rainfall is due to the presence of a low-pressure area from the north Kerala coast to the south Gujarat coast. The west-northwest wind will also be strong on the Kerala coast along with this. There is a possibility of widespread rain with thunder and lightning in Kerala for the next five days as a result of this. IMD also warned that there is a possibility of very heavy rain at isolated places and heavy rain at other places.

Meanwhile, red alert has been declared in Wayanad today due to heavy rain. The warning is that there is a possibility of more than 204.4 mm of rain in 24 hours. Orange alert has been declared in eight districts today. Orange alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Palakkad districts are on yellow alert. Orange alert has been announced in 10 districts for tomorrow.
