KOCHI: The Kerala High Court rapped the state government for not distributing the welfare pension. The court asked the government whether they cannot consider distributing some from the welfare pension that has to be given. A bench led by Acting Chief Justice A Mushtaq Muhammed and Justice S Manu rapped the government while considering pleas including that of Mariyakutty of Idukki, who protested for not getting the welfare pension.

When the case was considered last time, the court had directed the government to inform them the central government's share over giving pension and the amount paid by the government as pension including the amount obtained through CESS. The court also directed to give details in this regard. Mariyakutty’s lawyer pointed that pension is not being paid despite getting central and CESS shares. The court then asked why couldn’t you give a portion of the pension. The case will be considered again on July 30th.
