NEW DELHI: Around 300 Indian students have returned home from Bangladesh after the student-youth agitation against the announcement of reservation in government jobs gained strength. The students arrived in India yesterday. Meanwhile, the number of people killed in the conflict in Bangladesh has reached 104. There are also reports that more than 2500 people have been seriously injured.

The students who went for studies including MBBS in Bangladesh have returned. Most of the returnees are from states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir. The students told the media that they were monitoring the situation in Bangladesh, but decided to return to India after the situation worsened. Internet services have been suspended. Along with this, the phone system has almost stopped since last day. The students also stated that they decided to temporarily return from Bangladesh due to this.

At the same time, more than 100 students who took part in the agitation against the government of Bangladesh were killed in clashes between security personnel and government supporters. The agitation became more tense on Monday. Six students were killed in the clash at Dhaka University. Following this, the government ordered the closure of all universities in the country.
