CHENNAI: Southern Railway decided on Tuesday to cancel the services of the Antyodaya Express train for 10 days. This train connects Tambaram in Chennai with Nagercoil in Kanyakumari district. Due to the remodelling works in the tracks, it was pertinent to stop the service through this area,

The train usually shuttling service between Tambaram and Nagercoil at 11 pm will be cancelled from July 23 to July 31. Similarly, the Nagercoil-Tambaram service has been cancelled from July 22 till the end of the month.

In an alternative service, a train will depart from Chennai Egmore instead of Tambaram at 7 pm on July 24, 28, 29, and 31. Similarly, the train from Nagercoil will depart at 4:30 pm and will reach Egmore on July 22, 23, 25, 29, and 30.

Other Chennai-bound trains may be partially cancelled or delayed due to engineering and signal improvement work at Tambaram.

Shenkottai-Tambaram Express (Train No. 20684) will be temporarily halted at Villupuram on July 22, 24, 26, 27, 29, and 31. Tambaram-Shenkottai Express (Train No. 20683) will depart from Villupuram on July 24, 25, 28, and 30 instead of Tambaram.
