SRINAGAR: A soldier was killed during an encounter between the Indian Army and terrorists along the Line of Control in Poonch district in Jammu Kashmir. The martyred soldier has been identified as Lance Naik Subash Kumar. He was undergoing treatment after getting injured during the encounter conducted by the Army to thwart the infiltration bid of terrorists in the Krishna Ghati sector.

According to reports, several terrorists were killed in the encounter. Police said that the soldier's body was handed over to the Army after post-mortem. Officials said that a search operation has been launched in the area.

This is the second terror attack to be reported in the Jammu region in the last 24 hours. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi had visited the region the other day and assessed the situation.
