KOLLAM: A bedridden father died after being brutally beaten by his son. The incident took place in Paravoor, Kollam. Sarath, a native of Poothakulam Punnekkulam, has been arrested by the police in connection with the death of Sasi.

On Wednesday night, Sarath who came home drunk, brutally beat up his father. The cruelty was alleging that the father did not take proper care of Sarath's son. Sasi's face was thrashed and was completely broken. According to the police, Sasi's body has scars from beatings.

Relatives came and admitted Sasi to Paripally Medical College. Sasi was referred to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for expert treatment but was taken back home. He died this morning. Sasi's son, Sarath, was arrested by the police based on the statement of the relatives and the postmortem report.
