THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Indian Meteorological Department has announced that there is a possibility of widespread rain in Kerala for the next five days due to prevailing cyclonic circulation and low pressure. Cyclonic circulation prevails over North Chhattisgarh. Low pressure is located from the north Kerala coast to the south Gujarat coast. Rainfall is the result of this.
According to IMD, there is a possibility of very heavy rains at isolated places today and heavy rains from July 28 to 31. In the next three hours, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in the Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts and strong winds with a speed of up to 50 km per hour. IMD has also warned that there is a possibility of moderate rain at isolated places in all other districts and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 km per hour.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has informed that special caution should be exercised at the Kannur and Kasaragod coasts and there is a possibility of high waves and rough seas. According to the research centre, there is a possibility of a high wave of 2.9 to 3.1 meters on the Kerala coast till 11.30 pm on July 30. A high wave alert is also in place for Lakshadweep, Karnataka and Mahé coasts.
