ANKOLA: Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail on Sunday said that the search for Kozhikode native Arjun, who went missing in the landslide in Shirur, will not be called off. Speaking to the media, he said that efforts are being made to continue the search by bringing a dredger from Thrissur to remove the mud and soil.

Earlier, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had written to the Karnataka Chief Minister asking him not to call off the search to find Arjun. In his letter, Pinarayi Vijayan requested Siddaramiah to give instructions to the officials to continue the search operation. The search must continue by bringing in all necessary equipment. Pinarayi Vijayan also expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the teams involved in the rescue operations. The rescue operation for Arjun has been temporarily called off. Minister Mohammed Riyas had said that it was unfortunate that the search was temporarily suspended. The minister said that the search was suspended without informing the Kerala government officially.
