THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress High Command is likely to take serious action in response to the instance in which criticism raised against Opposition Leader VD Satheesan in the KPCC office-bearers meeting was leaked to the media. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee, will submit a report on this matter within five days.

The high command is adamant that infighting in the party should not jeopardize the favourable climate that allowed the UDF and the Congress to secure a massive victory in the Lok Sabha elections in Kerala. The Disciplinary Committee has been directed to submit a full investigation report to Deepa Dasmunsi, AICC general secretary in-charge of Kerala.

AICC is not happy with the continuous leaking of news from party meetings in the state. It has issued warnings against this several times. AICC leaders in charge of the state have directed that the news leak controversy should not affect the preparations for the local body elections and that there should not be any lapse in the implementation of the decisions taken in the Wayanad camp. It was assessed in the Wayanad camp that the UDF could gain a huge victory in the local elections by taking advantage of the anti-incumbency sentiment in the state. However, the central leadership has received some complaints that the infighting in the state Congress is going on in such a way that the UDF is losing the upper hand in the state. AICC may also take immediate steps to resolve the infighting within the party.
