CHENNAI: In the wake of the landslide disaster, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced Rs five crore as relief aid for Wayanad. Stalin spoke to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the phone and promised all support. Five crore rupees have been allocated from the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

A special team led by Tamil Nadu senior IAS officers GS Sameeran and Johnny Tom Varghese will reach Wayanad to coordinate relief and rescue operations.

Along with them, 20 rescuers led by the Joint Director of the Fire Service, 20 disaster management teams led by an SP and a medical team of 20 doctors and nurses were assigned to the rescue operation. Chief Minister Stalin informed that the team will work with the officials of Kerala.
