THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A sexual abuse case has been registered against Sujith, husband of Shini, who was shot at in West Fort. The case was registered based on the statement of doctor Deepthi, the accused in the case. She told police that she attacked her as part of revenge towards Sujith for abusing her sexually.

The shocking incident happened last Sunday. Dr Deepthi entered the house of Shini in West Fort and shot her with an air gun. Deepthi covered her face and came on the pretext of delivering an Amazon courier. She shot Shini and then fled from the place in a car. The car in which she came had a fake number. A ‘L’ board was stuck on the back of the car to mislead people. It was found that the car reached Kollam in an hour and 10 minutes. Finding the silver-coloured car in her husband’s house in Ayoor turned crucial. The car was in her father-in-law’s name.

Shini told police that she suspects no one and that no one has an enmity towards her. The police did not believe this. The police got the crucial information after conducting an investigation focusing on the phone numbers of Shini, her husband, and Deepthi.

The police reached the hospital where Deepthi was working and arrested her on Tuesday afternoon. It is not been six months since Deepthi has been working in the hospital. She is a native of Kottayam.

Sujith and Dr Deepthi met and became close while working in a private medical college during Covid time. Deepthi decided to take revenge after Sujith broke off his relationship with her.
