THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Individuals and organizations from various sectors of the society are reaching out to help and rehabilitate the Wayanad landslide victims. People from political, artistic, literary and cultural fields have all participated in this initiative. Kerala State Beverages Corporation has donated Rs one crore.
Donations: Kamal Haasan (25 Lakhs), Mammootty (20 Lakhs), Suriya (25 Lakhs), Fahadh Faasil, Nasriya Naseem and Friends (25 Lakhs), Dulquer Salmaan (15 Lakhs), Karthi (15 Lakhs), Jyothika (10 Lakhs), IBM Senior Vice President Dinesh Nirmal (25 lakh), CPM Tamil Nadu and Tripura state committees (10 lakh each), Ayurveda Medical Association of India (10 lakh), Thirunelli Devaswom (5 lakh), Shelter Charitable Society (5 lakhs), 5 lakhs reserved for the wedding expenses of MLA K T Jalil's daughter, Thrissileri Devaswom (2 lakhs), KSEB Pensioners Association (2 lakhs), Kannur District Police Co-operative Society (5 lakhs), Kozhikode City Police Employees Co-operative Society (2 lakhs), Documentary director Anand Patwardhan received the prize money at the Documentary Short Film Festival (2,20,000), Kalpatta resident Parvathy VC (1 lakh), Thiruvananthapuram Petta resident Elizabeth Jose (50,000), UDF convener MM Hasan donated his monthly MLA pension of 40,000 rupees, media worker Dr Arun Kumar, I V Das award amounting to Rs. 25,000, Sub Inspector Rank Holders Association (25,000), First Kerala Prabha awardee T. Madhava Menon (20,001). Kerala State Small Industries Association (KSSIA) will find one acre of land and build 10 houses for those who lost their homes in the disaster.
