KOZHIKODE: The Calicut City Service Co-operative Bank in a press meet convened said that they will construct houses for the victims of landslides in Wayanad and provide jobs to the wife of driver Arjun, who went missing in the landslide in Shirur.


Houses will be constructed for 11 families directed by the panchayat for Rs 5 lakh each on the land provided by the authorities, private institutions, or individuals for the rehabilitation of the homeless.


Eco-friendly houses will be completed in 120 days in association with the National Institute of Technology (NIT). Bank's profit for the year 2023-24 is Rs 4 crore and the amount will be utilized from it.


A job will be given to the wife of Arjun, who went missing in the landslide in Shirur. Officials also informed that the bank is ready to appoint her to the post not less than junior clerk post in the bank by relaxing the provisions of cooperative law.


Bank chairperson Prema Manoj, MVR Cancer Center Chairman C N Vijaya Krishnan, bank directors K P Ramachandran, T M Velayudhan, N P Abdul Hameed, bank general manager Saju James and C E Chakkunni (director, MVR Cancer Center) were present.
