THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K-FON high-speed internet connection has been provided to coordinate relief efforts in Mundakkai and Chooralmala areas of Wayanad. High-speed 500 Mbps connections have been provided to the Revenue Control Room and the Police Control Room to coordinate operations in the disaster-affected area. K-FON Wi-Fi connections were provided on 2nd August as per the request of Wayanad Sub-Collector. This has helped speed up communication between all the district administration centres in Kerala.
Dr Santhosh Babu IAS, Managing Director and Principal Secretary of K-FON, said that he is deeply saddened by the disaster in Wayanad and that K-FON connection has been made available in a manner that helps speed up the relief operations including rescue. "It was due to the incredible efforts of the engineers that the connection was made possible so quickly. We would like to thank the entire staff behind this. K-FON will ensure uninterrupted communication to support relief workers including rescue teams," he added.
