BENGALURU: The renewed search for Arjun, who went missing in a landslide in Shirur, continues with efforts now concentrated near the spot where diesel was detected in the Gangavali River. This location is about 70 meters away from where the jack of Arjun's lorry was found yesterday. The Navy is focusing its search on three specific points identified through sonar tests.

According to Manaf, the lorry owner, a metal part believed to belong to the missing lorry was discovered during a search conducted by Ishwar Malpe. However, it was later determined that the part did not belong to Arjun's lorry but likely to another tanker involved in the accident.

The search is being conducted on two fronts, with the Navy and Ishwar Malpe's team working in tandem. Malpe and his team have dived into the river four times so far, but have not yet found anything promising. The SDRF team has also joined the efforts, diving into the river as well. Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail is on-site to coordinate the activities, while Arjun's relatives remain present. The media has been restricted from entering the area.

Meanwhile, Minister Mohammad Riaz expressed hope in the ongoing search, emphasizing that this is not the time to assign blame. He also noted that a dredger cannot be used due to the depth of the Gangavali River.

In addition to Arjun, the search is also on for Lokesh and Jagannath, residents of Karnataka, who also went missing in the landslide. Despite a yellow alert being issued in Shirur, the weather conditions are currently favourable for the search operations.
