SHIRUR: The search for Arjun, who went missing in a landslide in Karnataka, is proving to be challenging, primarily due to the turbid waters of the Gangavali River. The Indian Navy has begun a search operation in the river, with NDRF divers expected to join the efforts. However, diver Ishwar Malpe has indicated that the murky water is severely hindering visibility, making the search difficult.

Arjun, a native of Kozhikode, went missing on the 16th of last month after a landslide struck the area. Two other individuals, Lokesh and Jagannath, both natives of Karnataka, are also still missing. Recently, a rope used for tying logs was found near the lorry driven by Arjun, raising hopes of finding more clues. During a search conducted by the Navy, a part resembling a lorry cab was discovered. However, Manaf, a person involved in the search, expressed doubts that it belonged to Arjun's lorry, noting that the parts found appeared to be old.

One of the main obstacles to the search is the thick layer of silt on the riverbed. Diver Ishwar Malpe reported that after a five-hour search, the rock and soil formations were significant barriers. Despite these challenges, Malpe resumed the search on August 13 and managed to locate the hydraulic jack from Arjun's lorry, along with a piece of iron, which was identified by Jackie Manaf.
