BENGALURU: Crucial discovery during the search for Kozhikode native Arjun, who went missing in a landslide in Karnataka's Shirur. The rope and metal parts of the lorry were recovered from the Gangavali River during the search today. Lorry owner Manaf confirmed that the rope belonged to Arjun's lorry.
A 50-meter-long rope has been found. It was Eshwar Malpe's team that found the rope. The body part of a vehicle found does not belong to Arjun's lorry. District Collector Laxmipriya, who is coordinating the rescue mission, stated that crucial evidence was found in the search to find Arjun. They also stated that as the rope was found it is certain that Arjun's lorry was at the bottom of the river. The search will now be based on the place where the rope was found.
Arjun, a native of Kannadikkal, Kozhikode, went missing in a landslide in Karnataka on the 16th of last month. Lokesh and Jagannath, natives of Karnataka, are also to be found. The main obstacle to the search is the silt lying on the river bed.
Eshwar Malpe went down to the river and started the search again on August 13 after a gap of a few days. The hydraulic jack of the lorry driven by Arjun was found in this search. A piece of iron was also found with it. Manaf had identified the hydraulic jack.
