THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Government order to give special colour to vehicles of driving schools in the state. The state transport authority has mandated yellow colour on the front and back of driving school vehicles.
The order will come into effect from October 1. There are 6000 driving schools with a total of 30,000 vehicles. Yellow colour has been made mandatory for road safety. It is assessed that other drivers will be able to quickly identify these vehicles once their colour is changed.
The demand to change the white colour of the contract carriage vehicles was considered but postponed with no decision. Tourist buses will remain white. The State Transport Authority has rejected the demand to withdraw the colour code.
