kafir-post

KOZHIKODE: CPM is trying to defend itself after the 'kafir post' circulated in the Vadakara constituency during the Lok Sabha elections became a challenge to them following the report submitted by the police in the High Court. UDF will counter that effort with a strike. UDF is coming up against the CPM and the police, alleging that there are efforts to sabotage the case. UDF and RMP will march to the Vadakara SP office on the 19th alleging that police and CPM are playing drama by making the accused witnesses in the case. With this, the controversy has become heated as in the election campaign.

Party State Secretary MV Govindan and Left Front Convenor EP Jayarajan came forward yesterday with the response that it is UDF behind the post. Govindan said that the CPM has no fear in this regard and that this will reach the UDF, who had posted obscene posts during Vadakara election. Govindan also refused to deny KK Latika who shared the post. Govindan responded by saying that Latika's actions were not wrong and Latika shared the post to show that such attitudes are dangerous.

EP Jayarajan also took a similar stand. Jayarajan said that the party will produce evidence in the court at the necessary stage and eventually it will lead to the UDF itself.

'Fake Secular Face'

"If the CPM, which claims to protect secularism day and night, should intervene to bring the accused to justice if they are sincere. Otherwise, we would organize a state-wide campaign to expose the false secular face of the CPM," the UDF leaders said.
