KOCHI: Kerala police successfully rescued a 25-year-old man from Mulavukad who was on the verge of committing suicide after posting a suicide note on social media. The young man, reportedly distressed over his unemployment, had decided to take his own life.

The situation came to light when the husband of Gaurilakshmi, an officer in the office of Range DIG Putta Vimaladya, noticed the concerning social media post. The DIG was immediately alerted, who in turn directed Aluva Rural Police Chief Dr Vaibhav Saxena to initiate a rescue operation.

Following the DIG's instructions, the cyber police quickly traced the young man's location to Mulavukad. The information was relayed to the DIG and the Ernakulam Central Police promptly launched an investigation.

Within minutes, police officers arrived at the young man's home and were able to prevent him from taking his life. During the intervention, the young man confessed to the police that he had been driven to this desperate act due to his struggle with unemployment. He was then provided with counseling to address his mental health concerns. The police assured him that the necessary support and assistance would be provided before leaving.
