KOCHI: Shop owner stages a different kind of protest by dumping garbage inside the Panchayat office building. The incident took place at the Vengola Panchayat office in Perumbavoor, Ernakulam. Anoop, a fishmonger in Vengola, came to the panchayat and dumped garbage inside the office. Anoop had reported to the panchayat about the garbage pile that was in front of his shop, but no action was taken. The vendor protested against this after he was fed up with complaining.
With the smelly garbage bag, Anoop first came to the hall where the officers were sitting. "If you are having any difficulty while this garbage bag is lying here, you should understand that we are also having the same difficulty," Anoop told the officials. "The panchayat authorities are not ready to take away the garbage despite being told several times and that's why I protested," Anoop responded.
It was the garbage collected by Haritha Karma Sena that fell in front of Anoop's shop while being transported in a lorry. However, the Panchayat authorities explained that the garbage brought by Anoop does not belong to Vengola Panchayat. Panchayat authorities are preparing to take legal action against Anoop in the incident. The Perumbavoor police informed that a case will be registered against Anoop on the complaint of the Panchayat President.
