THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that heavy rainfall will continue in the state until Wednesday. The hilly regions of central and southern districts are expected to receive more rain. The rain is caused by the influence of the cyclonic circulation above South Karnataka and the low-pressure area from Karnataka to Kanyakumari.
Orange alerts have been issued in Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, and Pathanamthitta districts, while yellow alerts have been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts. Fishing has been banned along the Kerala coast due to the possibility of high waves up to 3.3 meters.
