THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Justice Hema Commission had to travel through some complex paths to prepare a report throwing light on the harassment in the Malayalam film industry. The Commission gathered facts by providing questionnaires and interacting with individuals working in various sectors of the film industry in person and over the phone. It collected evidence through e-mail and WhatsApp. Many people handed over shocking videos and audio messages to the committee. The committee chairperson and members visited shooting locations to understand the situation. According to the report, the Commission visited the shooting location of 'Lucifer'. The visit took place while the shooting of the movie was going on at Kuthiramalika Palace in Thiruvananthapuram. The chairperson and members visited the Chitranjali studio in Thiruvallam to understand the problems of the technical workers including dubbing artists.

The Commission has submitted a comprehensive report accompanied by irrefutable evidence, including WhatsApp chat screenshots, audio recordings, and visual proof. The Commission heard testimonies from both women and men, with the testimony collection process often lasting over ten hours a day. To protect the privacy of those who cooperated with the Commission, the report does not include the names of those who provided evidence. The video recordings of those who provided testimony have been edited to prevent identification through visuals or sound. The Commission prepared a detailed questionnaire for data collection, which was emailed to 40 members of the WCC. 32 members responded by July 5, 2018.

The Commission collected information from women in the film industry, including directors, producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, and hairstylists. The information provided by WCC members served as crucial guidance for the Commission. Some individuals from outside the film industry also assisted. In addition to WCC, the Commission sought information from office bearers of film industry organizations.
