THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Director Vinayan said the report of Justice Hema has an adverse impact on the film industry. The report is a concern for the new generation entering films. ‘This is only this much, have seen bigger than this,' Vinayan told media that he has seen even ministers talking like this. Filmmakers too were seen talking this way. Just want to tell them not to pretend asleep any longer. It will take the film industry further into trouble. Vinayan also said the recommendations of the Hema Committee should be implemented strongly.
‘The harassment of the mafia group in the film industry is not only sexual. I am a victim of other forms of abuse. I have told earlier that this approach is not right for Malayalam cinema. A union was formed under my leadership for the lower level in films. The Hema committee report has clearly stated that an actor was behind the dissolution of the 'MACTA' organization. I was away from the film industry for 12 years as part of my involvement in organizational issues. ‘This report is of historical importance,’ said Vinayan.
