THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There are widespread protests against the act of P V Anwar MLA, who publicly insulted district police chief S Sasidharan at the police association meeting venue. IPS Association passed a resolution against the MLA. The resolution said Anwar tried to defame the IPS officers in public.


‘Anwar MLA publicly admitted that he tried to influence Malappuram SP in many ways. The MLA is trying to create a fearful situation of lawlessness. Anwar should withdraw his statement and apologize publicly. The resolution stated that the MLA should be ready to uphold the rule of law.’ The association also informed that they would file a complaint against the MLA to the chief minister.


Anwar was the chief guest at the inaugural function and SP was the keynote speaker. Anwar was angry waiting for the SP for an hour and for not catching the thief in connection with the theft of rope from his park. He criticized the police for trying to create sentiments against the government and the chief minister. He also alleged that the SP deliberately came late to the event.


Anwar arrived at 9.50 and was asked to wait for the 10 o'clock meeting. If the SP arrived late as part of his busy schedule, then no problem. But if he had wanted me to wait, then it is for him to decide. Anwar said that none of these methods are correct.
