The Hema Committee report and its implications for the Malayalam film industry, have become hot topics of discussion on social media. The report, which addresses serious issues such as misogyny and employment discrimination within the industry, reveals that Malayalam cinema is controlled by a powerful 15-member group.

The release of the report has sparked widespread public outrage, particularly against the star organization AMMA. Many online commentators have praised the late actor Thilakan for his lone battle against this very system years ago.

The controversy has intensified with Thilakan's daughter, Sonia Thilakan, publicly criticizing those who worked against her father. She also shared her own struggles following Thilakan's death, adding a personal dimension to the ongoing debate.

Thilakan's past statements about the death of actor Srinath are also resurfacing on social media. In a video, Thilakan recalls meeting Srinath in Madras 25 years ago. He mentioned that two weeks before Srinath's death, Srinath avoided meeting him during a family event, allegedly due to his reluctance to face Thilakan, who was banned by AMMA at that time. Thilakan further suggests in the video that many believed Srinath's death was not a suicide but a murder.

Thilakan had lodged a complaint with the then Minister of Culture, who assured him that he would consult Pinarayi Vijayan, the party secretary at the time, to resolve the issue. However, according to Thilakan, no action was taken.
