THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The search for 13-year-old Thasmin Begum, a native of Assam who went missing from Kazhakootam, has intensified as police uncover crucial leads. Thasmin was last seen on CCTV footage alighting from a train at Nagercoil station at 3:03 am yesterday. The footage shows her briefly stepping off the train to buy a bottle of water before reboarding the same carriage.

Based on this information, police believe Thasmin may have traveled to Kanyakumari. Searches were conducted at the Kanyakumari railway station, beach, and surrounding areas, but no trace of her has been found. Authorities are now expanding the search, with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and local police scouring trains on the suspicion that she might have boarded another train from Kanyakumari.

There is also a possibility that Thasmin may return to Thiruvananthapuram. As a precaution, police are conducting checks at Thampanoor railway station, as well as on trains and buses in the area.

Thasmin Begum, the elder daughter of Anwar Hussain, went missing after an argument with her siblings. Upset by her mother's scolding, she left their rented home near St. Anthony's School in Kazhakootam.

Police are also considering the possibility that Thasmin may have headed to Chennai via the Tirunelveli route from Kanyakumari. A special team has been formed to locate her before she reaches Chennai. The search continues with heightened urgency.
