THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Shama Mohamed, the national spokesperson for the party, has been reinstated to the WhatsApp group of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) media wing. This comes after her controversial removal from the group on the 16th of this month.

The removal reportedly stemmed from differences of opinion between Shama Mohamed and Deepthi Mary Varghese, who is in charge of the KPCC's media activities. The disagreement was allegedly related to Shama's participation in channel discussions. Shama was part of a team assigned by Deepthi to discuss various media strategies, but was unexpectedly removed, leading to widespread speculation and controversy when the news spread.

Amid mounting pressure and intervention from senior party leaders, Shama was reinstated to the group on Deepthi's suggestion. Addressing the issue, Deepthi Mary Varghese stated, "There was a demand for other Malayali national spokespersons to be included in the WhatsApp group. Shama was temporarily removed to accommodate others who were seen as equally capable."

In response, Shama Mohamed said, "No one has the authority to expel anyone from the group. The matter was taken up with the party leadership, who intervened, leading to my reinstatement."
