rain

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state is set to experience heavy rainfall over the next five days, with particularly intense downpours expected in the central and northern districts. The cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep has intensified into a low-pressure system over the central-east Arabian Sea, along the Karnataka-Goa coast. Additionally, a new cyclone is predicted to form in the North Bay of Bengal by tomorrow, contributing further to the rainfall.

A Yellow Alert has been issued for Kannur and Kasaragod districts tomorrow. Coastal residents are urged to remain vigilant, as there is a high possibility of strong waves and sea surges along the Kerala coast. Fishing activities are strictly prohibited due to these hazardous conditions. Strong winds are expected to sweep across the hilly regions of the state over the next two days. Residents in these areas should take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
