THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor and BJP leader Krishnakumar said that there are power groups in cinema and one should be stupid to say no. "There have always been power groups in cinema. In the past it was various lobbies. The vast majority of people working in cinema are good but, there are some bugs. And these bugs are powerful. In cinema, there are people who are very successful, just like the ones in power groups." Expressing that he doesn't like to malign them, Krishnakumar suggested that those who say there are no powergroups are either idiots or just lying to please someone.

The actor said that the Hema committee report is very good and profound and said that there will be control in the film industry only if drastic action is taken. "Let the majority government take action. If we don't start now, the situation will worsen. The power groups are strong but their work is invisible. There is often a give-and-take policy in the cinema field. When they don't get what they want, they go and complain. More than 50 percent cases in the field are fake."
