THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 13-year-old girl from Assam, who left home after quarrelling with her parents, was brought to Thiruvananthapuram around 10:30 pm. The child was brought to Thiruvananthapuram Central Station by Kerala Express and received under the leadership of Child Welfare Committee Chairperson Shaniba Begam. The child was transferred to the Child Welfare Committee as it was night.
Although Monday is a holiday, the CWC will hold a special sitting to take a decision on the child. The child's father Anwar Hussain and mother Parveen Begum will be called and their statement will be taken. Shaniba Begam said that a decision will be taken after hearing the opinion of the child. It will also be investigated whether the child has faced physical violence from the parents.
The child, who was in the observation home of CWC in Visakhapatnam, was handed over to the Kerala Police on Saturday in the presence of Malayali Samajam workers. A team consisting of Kazhakutam SI VS Ranjith, female police Sheetal, Chinnu and police officer Reji brought the girl back.
