ATTINGAL: Two wild boars that were destroying crops were shot dead under the leadership of the Attingal Municipality Health Squad and M Panel Shooters of the Forest Department. Two boars were shot dead during the last night's search. After receiving a complaint that wild boars were destroying crops, the areas adjacent to the river bank and residential areas were inspected. Four wild boars were shot during the 10-hour-long search.

The wild boars ran away after being shot. Two were found dead near the Vamanapuram river later. The fully grown male wild boar is 11 years old and weighs 200 kg. The female wild boar is six years old and weighs 90 kg. The dead wild boars were sprayed with a bleaching mixture and a chemical solution and buried according to government standards.

The squad consisted of public health inspectors Muhammad Rafi and Biju, employees Sasikumar, Manoj, Ajeesh and Aji, and shooters Vimalkumar, Jawaharlal, Sudharman and Anilkumar.
