Actress Usha Haseena is moving into her 40th year in cinema and her latest release includes Antony Pepe’s ‘Kondal’. Before the Hema committee report, it was Usha’s incendiary revelations that stirred up controversy in mollywood. And now, the actress has now opened up with Kaumudi movies.
Usha Haseena:
“In older times, cinema was centred around Thiruvananthapuram. Despite some religious-based communalism, things were plain sailing within the industry and people with talent were readily accepted. All things started going awry when Mollywood shifted its base to Kochi. A new lobby emerged out of nowhere.
If we react against them, we will be taken out of movies. For some people, cinema is their life, so why do this cruelty? A senior actor once misbehaved with me and I instantly reacted by slapping his face. Another actor saw this and I don’t want to talk more since it happened long back.
I even faced harassment from a senior director. I kept him in high regard and his wife was my friend. I used this friendship to request a role in his film, and it happened. He took my number and started disturbing me during night hours. This even led to me breaking my friendship with his wife. I’m not naming them since both of them passed away.”
