PALAKKAD: State Secretariat with approval for CPM disciplinary action against PK Sasi. The Palakkad District Committee's decision was approved by the State Secretariat. The action was reported in today's district secretariat meeting. With this, Sasi will lose all elected positions and will only have primary membership of the party. Sasi was a member of the district committee of the party. He is a former MLA and Chairman of KTDC.

The Palakkad district committee raised allegations that PK Sasi was involved in economic manipulation and favouritism, which should not have happened on the part of a communist leader. PK Sasi worked without discussion with the party. PK Sasi did not inform the party about collecting money for Mannarkkad Universal Cooperative College. Moreover, PK Sasi transferred the funds for the construction of the area committee office to his own account. He appointed trustees in Cooperative Bank. PK Sasi acted out of personal interest in areas of party influence. Mannarkkad Area Committee acted to protect PK Sasi's interest. The district leadership also says that people including the area secretary have failed. The District Committee had met and dissolved the Mannarkkad Area Committee.
