KOCHI: The police have registered a case against five individuals, including Santhosh Varkey, in connection with a sexual assault case. The action follows a complaint filed by a woman, a make-up artist, with the Cheranallur police.

Along with Santhosh Varkey, the other accused are Alan Jose Perera, Abhilash Attayam, Bright and short film director Vineeth. The woman lodged her complaint on August 13 and her confidential statement has been recorded by the authorities.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 12. According to the complaint, the victim, who resides in a rented house in South Chittoor, was approached by Vineeth, a friend of hers, and the other accused under the pretext of discussing movie details. The first accused allegedly tied her up and assaulted her, then coerced her into cooperating with the others as well.
