NEW DELHI: The opposition parties had organized strong protests demanding the resignation of Kollam MLA Mukesh over the sexual harassment complaint. Meanwhile, CPM politburo member Vrinda Karat reacted to the Hema committee report and the controversial issues. Vrinda Karat has taken an indirect stand on Mukesh's issue in an article published on the party's website.

Party leaders, including Left Front convener E P Jayarajan, defended Mukesh issue by raising the counter argument that the two Congress MLAs accused of sexual exploitation are still continuing or have not resigned. Vrinda Karat's article said that this stand is not correct. Vrinda Karat opined that we should not take the attitude of 'I did it because you did it'. Vrinda's harsh criticism is that the Congress is supporting the MLAs accused of molestation and a section of the anti-communist media is also supporting them.

By filing a case against Mukesh under the non-bailable section in the sexual exploitation complaint, the Congress's false allegation that the government is protecting the guilty, has been exposed. She lauded the LDF government for forming the Hema Committee.
