PATHANAMTHITTA: Pathanamthitta SP Sujith Das is on leave soon after his phone conversation with MLA P V Anwar surfaced. He will be on leave for three days.
Anwar had the other day alleged that ADGP Ajith Kumar, in charge of law and order and former Malappuram SP Sujith Das made furniture for their houses after felling and smuggling trees. Action is likely to be taken against Ajith Kumar and Sujith Das in the incident.
P V Anwar and N Sreejith of Kadakkal in Kollam had lodged a complaint with the SP alleging that trees were felled. The phone conversation between Sujith Das and Anwar surfaced after the allegations.
Sujith Das, the district police chief of Pathanamthitta, requested that his name not be dragged into the tree felling case. Sujith requested Anwar to withdraw the complaint. Sujith had said that the present Malappuram SP is one who harasses his colleagues and that he was happy when Anwar spoke against him in the meet.
When Anwar asked how the teak priced Rs 56,000 by the social forestry department was auctioned for Rs 20,000, Sujith replied that others had misled the MLA. Sujith had also said that the mahogany branches on top of his house were chopped.
