KOCHI: Actress and director Revathy denied Ranjith’s allegations of sending nude photos of a youth, who complained of sexual harassment against him. Revathy said that she is aware of the news being circulated about her and Ranjith, but she has not received any such pictures. She clarified this to Times of India.
'I am aware of the news being circulated about me and Ranjith in the media. I have not received any photos. So, there is no need for me to comment on this,' she said.
Allegations were levelled against Ranjith for subjecting a youth to unnatural sex. He said that he was sexually harassed by Ranjith in 2012 when he came to him for offers in films.
He also alleged that Ranjith had send his nude pictures to actress Revathy. He said that his pictures were taken after forcing him to undress. He then sent the photos to someone else. Ranjith then told him that his pictures were sent to Revathy and that she liked him. This incident happened in Bengaluru during the audio launch that happened after the pack up of 'Bavuttiyude Namathil', the youth alleged.
Meanwhile, Ranjith had to resign his chairman post of film academy after sexual allegations were raised against him by a Bengali actress. The police had registered a case on the complaint of the actress. In 2009, the actress complained that Ranjith touched her body with sexual interest at his flat in Kadavantra, Kochi during discussion on Paleri Manikyam.
The actress also mentioned in her complaint that she had shared her ordeal with story writer Joshi Joseph. Based on this, the investigation team had collected his statement. It is also reported that the investigation team will directly contact all the people mentioned by the actress.
