THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Vishnu has confirmed the serious allegations levelled by actress Charmila against director Hariharan. "Director Hariharan asked me 'will she give in'. He told me to ask Charmila if she would adjust. Charmila said no. I informed Hariharan about this. After this, Charmila lost her chance in Parinayam," Vishnu revealed to a private channel.
Actress Charmila had revealed that 28 people including actors, directors and producers have behaved with sexual intent towards her. The actress also said that MP Mohanan, producer of the movie 'Arjunan Pillayum Anchu Makkalum', and his friends tried to rape her. "My family intervened and saved me that day. Director Hariharan had asked actor Vishnu if I would give in. When I said I was not ready, I was removed from the film 'Parinayam'," the actress alleged.
There was an attempt to gangrape me during the 1997 film 'Arjunan Pillayum Anchu Makkalum'. I ran out of the room during the rape attempt. They tried to pull off my assistant's saree. The male assistant was assaulted. The hotel receptionist also connived to this. It was the auto driver who saved me when I finally ran out of the hotel room. It was producer MP Mohanan and his friends who tried to rape me. I escaped but the junior artists could not. I lost many Malayalam films because I was not ready for adjustment," said the actress.
