KOCHI: Bengali actress who complained against director Ranjith said that she is not coming to Kochi to attend the 'Real Justice' seminar. The actress clarified this through an Instagram post. The actress also apologized for not being able to attend the seminar.
'Something that was thought to never come out about the Malayalam film industry came out after 15 years and I became an important part of the Metoo movement. I had been hounded by press media across the country narrating the said incident over n over n over again which took a heavy toll on me as it did back here when I took names of Bengali film industry who's who ..REMEMBER?
Yes, I took a break from everything and travelled to the mountains whose quiet would calm my soul. This was my birthday treat to myself and done giving any justification to anyone for my said act. Sorry I couldn't travel to Kerala for the seminar which had been cancelled because of me. I needed a breather as I have my right to live My Life according to My Choice and have never ever bowed down to the misogynistic society and film industry by n large. Again sorry Mr Joshy Joseph for declining your offer. Hopefully will come back in better times. I HAVE DONE MY BIT NOW LET ME BE. - The actress clarified in the post. According to the poster shared by the actress, director Joshy Joseph, Tushar Gandhi and media personality Dhanya Rajendran were other guests at the seminar.
The police move was to record a secret statement in the complaint against Ranjith when the actress reached Kochi. As the actress has stated that she will not reach Kochi, the police have to look for other means. The actress, who is also a CPM activist, filed a complaint that she faced a bad experience from Ranjith during the audition of the movie 'Paleri Manikyam' in 2009.
