THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actress Padmapriya said the mass resignation in the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) is an irresponsible act. She responded in an interview given to an online media. On what moral grounds did they resign, asked the actress. The actor openly said the government should give an answer for not releasing the Hema Committee report for four and a half years. The actor also said that there is a power group in the film industry. The AMMA Association has no head and backbone.

Meantime, a former Bollywood star Somi Ali reacted on the Hema Committee report. Somi Ali in an interview to a national media said there is violence against women in the

film industry and that she has seen it directly.

'Many have told me that should give in to build up a career in films. However, she was not ready for that. The Hema Committee report is a warning not only for Kerala but also for the Indian cinema itself. Whether it is a woman or a man. Everyone should be able to work freely without fear in films. Many have told me during my acting career that if you have to succeed should have to go to the hotel suite of many people. I have seen actresses walking out of the rooms of top actors, humiliated and pained. There are people living decently after marriage among the poachers,’ she said.
