THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court sentenced the father who molested his daughter three times to life imprisonment. Thiruvananthapuram POCSO District Judge MP Shibu imposed the punishment under various sections. A fine of Rs 1.60 lakh was also imposed on the father. Out of this, Rs 1.5 lakh should be given to the child.

The mother died when the child was only one and a half years old. The case is that the 37-year-old father sexually molested the child from the time she was studying in the first class. Unable to bear the harassment of the accused, the child told her teacher what was happening. The teachers informed the police and the father was arrested. The child has been staying at the Juvenile Home since the day the case was reported. Public prosecutor JK Ajith Prasad and advocate VC Bindu appeared for the prosecution.

Sexual abuse: Accused who was absconding abroad arrested

ARYANAD: Aryanad police arrested the Malappuram native who was hiding abroad after abusing a girl. Malappuram Perinthalmanna Elamkulam native Muhammad Shahad (26) was arrested. He molested a young girl from Vellanadu in 2019.

After the incident, the police had issued a blue corner notice against the accused, who was absconding abroad, with the help of Interpol. After the suspect came back, the immigration department detained him at the Coimbatore airport and informed the Aryanad police.
