THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Dr VP Suhaib Moulavi will continue as the Palayam Imam. The Maulvi who completed his tenure was reappointed for another five years. A special jury formed by the Palayam Muslim Jamaat for the appointment of Imams led the selection process.

Moulavi holds a degree in Sharia and Usul al-Deen from Qatar University and a Masters from University of Calicut and UGC NET, and a PhD from MG University on Causes of Variations in Qur'anic Interpretations and the Influence of Linguistic Discussions on Them. Apart from spiritual activities, Moulavi is also active in social and cultural activities in the capital. Dr. Ali Muhyiddin Quradaghi, Dr. Muhammad Usman Shubair, Dr. Ali Mohammadi are his main teachers.

Dr Suhaib Moulavi is the second son of VP Shahul Hameed Master and Twahira couple from Malappuram Arakkuparamba Puthoor. Spouse: Dr Lamies. Children: Misab, Ammar, Zara and Yaseen.
