KANNUR: A recent post by the pro-left social media profile Red Army has stirred controversy within the CPM. The post, which sharply criticizes top police officials and political secretary P. Shashi, accuses Shashi of attempting to undermine the party by aligning too closely with the Chief Minister. The Red Army also condemned perceived traitors within the party who allegedly support officers, calling for their removal from the party ranks.

In response, CPM leader P Jayarajan dismissed any connection with the Red Army, asserting that the party's official new media channels are separate from the group. Jayarajan accused efforts of being made to create misunderstandings during the party's meeting phase. His son, Jain Raj, also challenged the Red Army's claims, stating that he is not associated with the group and that the Facebook page, originally named PJ Army, only changed its name to Red Army without his involvement.

In a recent statement, Red Army reiterated its lack of affiliation with P. Jayarajan or Jain Raj, emphasizing that its admins are independent leftist activists and that the party remains paramount in their focus.
